Charandeep Singh and Varun Daga of Girik Capital shared their investing manta with ET NOW. Here’s a snapshot: On broking companies: Talking about their holdings - Angel Broking and CDSL - founder Charandeep Singh said, “Element of digitisation and capturing market share are key features of the broking industry, with 3-4 names controlling most of incremental market share.” On playing the QSR theme: “One QSR name that has done very well historically is Jubilant Foodworks. It is exciting to invest in the QSR theme but need to be mindful of companies not losing their relevance over time,” says Singh. On Ajanta Pharma vs peers: The team invested in Ajanta Pharma a few years back and they elaborate that what attracted them to the stock. “It is well managed and has been able to find growth through its various initiatives,” says Singh. Their investing theme: Elaborating on their investment style, co-founder Varun Daga says that they are not biased to any particular sector. “In 2007, if you didn’t know SBI and L&T, people would laugh at you. But today, who owns SBI and L&T? Everybody owns the Nestles and Asian Paints of the world,” he says. “Every sector can have cycles.
